Soundrop Pro is now up for approval by Apple! It will show up as an update to Soundrop Free renaming it back to Soundrop. The new features can be purchased via in-app purchase on the main menu.
New features:
- Multiple Instruments
- Multiple Drops (Includes tempo settings)
- Physics Modifiers
- Game Save
- TV out support *Free* (Automatic)

I’m currently working on the next update which will be a complete rewrite of the physics and audio engines.

  1. I think that’s probably the best way to do it – make it easily available to all your users, without forcing them to search in the app store.
    Congrats on the new version!

  2. Hi, I’m very interested in Linux but Im a Super Newbie and I’m having trouble deciding on the right distribution for me (Havent you heard this a million times?) anyway here is my problem, I need a distribution that can switch between reading and writing in English and Japanese (Japanese Language Support) with out restarting the operating system.

  3. I’m not sure what to suggest. All Linux boxes that I currently use are headless and I don’t use GUIs on them.

  4. I’ve hooked up my Soundrop (iPhone and iPad) to my outboard studio and it’s a pretty amazing instrument, I must admit. I have the iPhone currently running Soundrop through 36 channels of outboard gear, some very old delays and new EQs, and it sounds pretty brilliant, even with the basic marimba. Frenetically plugging in the devices to keep them looping, as there’s no save yet : )

    I am a musician using this, just a user, so this is all about this app’s playability, and I am impressed : )

    Right now (Friday evening, Amsterdam time) >>

    Inputs :-
    - iPad (Soundrop) -> mono/stereo
    - iPhone (Soundrop) -> mono/stereo
    –>
    Channels (stereo, all physical gear, no computers) :-
    - 2 x stereo Drawmer Compressors
    - 2 x Boss VF-1 stereo multieffects
    - 2 x Lexicon PCM-42 (1982) mono VCO delays
    - 1 x Symetrix 606 (stereo)
    - 1 x TC Electronic FireworX (stereo)
    - 1 x Lexicon MPX-100 (stereo) – for plates
    - 1 x TC Electronic D-TWO (stereo)
    - 2 x BSS Opal 966 (EQ) (2x mono = stereo)
    - 1 x TL Audio Parametric EQ (2x mono = stereo)
    ->
    All routed and re-routed on Aux/Snds, direct and sub outputs via some Mackie mixers.

    I’ve made some movies if you are interested..

    Once again – thanks for making this app!!

    :)

  5. OH, and by the way…

    If you come up with a load of new colours and attenuation models, pitch v. length etc. It would still be super cool to also be able to load earlier versions of this app. Even if more rudimentary, the creativity that this version enables is pretty great and might be missed with new features.

    Is there any way the versions can be preserved? E.g. My iPad could have a load of different Soundrop apps, different versions?

    Dunno.

  6. I’m heart broken to see the result of your latest “update”. This app was one of my all time favorites, I just purchased an iPad and used to spend long periods of time in fascination with how simple but addicting this app was. Part of it’s greatness was how simple and clean the app looked, it was basic and beautiful. The ad that now appears at the bottom of the screen is extremely ugly and is a giant eye sore… And then finding out you want us to “pay per feature” was very insulting… Do you really think I’m going to pay a dollar to have the “save” option? I’m really going to miss this app.

  7. @David, if you purchase any feature, the ads are removed. You have no right to complain, it’s a free app.

    @Jordan I’ve taken the current version down and pushed an update to Apple that removes the ads and replaces the “Manage Purchases” option with a “Upgrade to Pro” option. Meaning for $1.99, all of the features are enabled. If you’ve already purchased a feature, the update will instantly convert you to Pro. The update will go live as soon as Apple approves it.

  8. coolest app by far, cant wait for pro

  9. Please help me. I can’t find this on app store and my friend has it. It looks very good and can’t wait! Can anyone help me?!?

  10. Glad to know you’re listening, Max. Thanks for the return of soundrop. After seeing that you fixed the annoyances i purchased the 1.99 upgrade as a thank you.

    cheers

  11. I’m glad you like it! The positive feedback has been wonderful.
