Soundrop Pro

Apr 14 2010

I’ve been fairly busy so I’ll keep this post short and sweet. Soundrop Pro is currently in the works. I should have the first version released in the next few weeks! I have a GIANT list of additional features being added. If you have a feature request, post a comment!

Thanks,
Max

  1. Hello there,

I absolutely love your Soundrop app! I am a musician and not a developer, so I don’t know unrealistic my requests are, but in Soundrop pro, I would love to see an option to change the scale of notes to preset scales (pentatonic, modes, twelvetone,) or let the advanced user pick the pitches that he or she would like to work with.

One thing my friends ask me when I demo the app to them is if I can change the sound. The marimba is nice, and I really think it’s hard to play anything that sounds bad on a marimba, but I think an electric piano voice would sound fantastic!

Thaks for all your hard work!

  2. This is one of the most creative and unique apps I’ve found. Unbelievably fun, and quite hypnotic.

I’m really looking forward to the Pro version! Anything that adds to the physics of the game would be great. How about different ball sources, where you can specify the mass of the balls the source generates? How about having the balls interact with each other? Elasticity? Gravity? Friction? Different ball materials?

This is super fun as is, and has tons of potential.

    Great work!!

  3. I’m currently working on Soundrop Pro which will implement a lot of these features. I plan to add more in upcoming revisions of it.

  4. Soundrop Pro will allow for multiple instruments. The initial release will have more instruments available through in-app purchase. I plan to allow users to create their own instruments in a following revision.

  5. brilliant!!! I am a primary school teacher and would love to use this app in school. Would it be possible to add a save/share option? We always need to show ‘evidence’ of children’s learning. Sooooooo well done – you are a genius!

  6. I can sit and stare at bouncing balls for hours, or just close my eyes and listen to the mesmerizing sound created. Awesomeness at the tip of your fingers!

New sounds, physics, colors, etc. etc. would be nice, but the one thing I am looking forward to most is a way to save (possibly share?) creations. I would gladly pay to have that at my disposal.

Can’t wait to see what comes of this. Keep up the great work.

  7. Please let me save…

  8. Love the program. Using it on an ipod touch. My kids love it too.
Just had a thought, what if the first dot was a different color or grayscale than the other dots. As long as the first dot was on screen the following dots remain white, as soon as it leaves the screen sound drop drops another gray dot. That way, one could follow the rhythmic pattern visually as the pattern gets more complex.

    Thanks!
